Henry in Vancouver!

Ok I've been meaning to post on the Henry Rollins Spoken Word show in Vancouver for a week now. I was a fan of Henry before the show - especially where his spoken word stuff is concerned. But now I'm an even bigger fan. Probably because of the way he dissed Nickelback. But I just enjoyed his talk of nearly 3 hours. I laughed a lot. He wasn't as political as he's been known to be in the past but talking about his duet with Shatner made up for that. Ok, getting back to Nickelback. I fucking hate those guys. Henry was talking about dating and "date breakers" or something to that effect. Basically, questions he knows he shouldn't ask women he's out on a date with, but he can't help himself. So he'll be driving to dinner and ask the woman what her current favourite CDs are. And she'll say, "Well, I really like the new Nickelback..." "SKREEEEEE - GET THE FUCK OUT!" That kind of thing. Made my night.

I saw happy Hank about ten years ago here in Toronto. Stories about growing up with Ian McKay (Minor Threat, Fugazi): very funny. Stories about watching his roommate get murdered: not so funny, oddly enough.

Good times then, glad to hear that he still has it.
